    By Kristina Caramel Sy

The Mapua Cardinals overpowered the Lyceum Pirates in their 2nd face-off
in the 88th season of the NCAA with a final score of 76-58.

The Cardinals are already out of the Final 4 Race but they are still striving to finish season strong. The players were really inspired after Coach Victolero told them that they should win this ballgame for the Mapua Community and for next year. They should consider this as a foundation for next Season.

Kenneth Ighalo and Mike Parala dominated the game once again. Ighalo garnered a
double-double 12 points and 11 rebounds while Parala scored 17 big points that blew the Pirates away.

Cardinals took their advantage during the 2nd quarter where they produced
24 points and limit the Pirates to only 7 points through their
    solid defense.

Two fiery heads clashed during the last few minutes of the game. Garcia of the Pirates and Abad of the Cardinals had an altercation both of them were called for a
Disqualifying Foul that sent them out of the playing court.

Shane Ko and Gian Mallari of the Pirates made some noise for their
team and sank multiple treys to cut down their deficit late in the fourth quarter, but they fell short.

Mapua notched their 7th win of the Season while Lyceum suffered their 14th loss in the NCAA Season 88 Men's Basketball. The Pirate remain to be at the bottom of the team standings while the Cardinals are tied with EAC in the 6th place.
