    By: Kristina Caramel Sy

The DLSU Green Archers crumpled the UST Growling Tigers to post their 2nd win, 78-70, for the elimination round of the 2012 FilOil Flying V Pre-season Hanes Cup.

The Archers played minus their 5 key players because of injuries while the Tigers missed the prescence of their Head coach, Pido Jarencio in this game.

The Tigers started the match producing a 6-0 run from Aljon Mariano and Jeric Teng's charities. But the Archers' Norbert Torres who had 16 pts., 12rebounds, and 4 assts. who was aided by their two talented new players Mark Tallo who had 6pts, 6rebs, 4assts and Jeron Teng who had 14 pts. slashed their deficit and tied the score to end the 1st Quarter, 15 all.

Norbert Torres still blasting in the 2nd quarter taking advantage of the early penalty situation of UST that fastened a wide lead for the Archers, 39-30 to end the the first half.

The Archers carried their momentum on the 2nd half which made UST shoot desperation 3-point attempt from Jeric Fortuna who notched 13 pts. and 5 rebs. plus A. Mariano who had 19 pts. and 6 rebs. and Kevin Ferrer who had 13 pts. and 10 rebs., but they experienced a shooting that kept them down by 10 pts in the last quarter.

In the last 5 mins. on the game clock, Clark "Tata" Bautista was able to add more points for UST that cut their deficit down to 5. But due to lack of time and unstoppable basket from Norbert Torres, it forbid the Tigers to climb on the standings.

Meanwhile NU Bulldogs still riding on their momentum as they displayed their 5th straight win this time against the CSB Blazers, 71-52.
