San Beda Players' Penalties After The Brawl, REDUCED Because of Humanitarian Considerations!

    Source: www.Philstar.com

Out of Humanitarian Considerations the NCAA Committee has reduced the sanctions to some of the San Beda Red Lions' Basketball Team members. It is one of those rare instances wherein the Humanitarian Considerations were able to go above the previous rulings of one of the Philippines' premier College Basketball League.

I don't really know if this will do justice to the parties involved, but definitely, this will become a landmark case for the generations to come. It will become a precedent for future cases identical to this one.

And so, here are the decisions of the NCAA Policy Board:

    1. 8 players(Jake Pascual, Ryusei Koga, Anjo Caram, Jaypee Mendoza, Baser Amer, Rome de la Rosa, Carmelo Lim and Kyle Pascual) will be suspended for 1 game instead of 2.

    2. Suspensions on the Graduates or Graduating(whatever it is) players Sudan Daniels, Mar Villahermosa, Garvo Lanete and Dave Marcelo will be carried out but the school needs to pay fines with amount of 15,000 each on their behalf.

    3. The sanctions imposed on Ola Adeogun and Julius Armon will remain. (They will not play in the upcoming Season of the NCAA unless they pass the player eligibility rule.)

4.The league board chaired by Letran rector-president Fr. Tamerlane Lana, OP, also decided to implement the new rule stopping the recruitment of foreign players starting in Season 90, or two years from now.
