The Petron Blaze Boosters fueled up themselves as they beat the top ranked team in the standings, the Rain or Shine Elastopainters, 90-80, for the 2nd game of the PBA 37th Season yesterday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Rain or Shine, during the opening quarter, did not find their scoring prowess in the paint and they were unsuccessful from their attempts from the outside. While Petron's Chris Lutz, who just came back from an injury, scored for the Blaze Boosters during the first half. He gave a full tank performance using his unstoppable 3 pointers. His scoring efforts extended their lead to a big 20 plus points, 44-23.

In the 2nd half, JR QuiƱahan already found his shooting range in the paint during the 3rd
Quarter as he fired a back-to-back 3 point shots and back-to-back 2 pointers on the line that froze their two-digit deficit, 72-51.

In the 4th quarter, Petron relaxed their defense during the last quarter as they were giving fouls that gave Rain or Shine a break to cut their two-digit deficit via their bonus free-throws. But, Arwind Santos did not let the E-painters to tie the score and selfishly fired baskets that dispatched the winning streak of the Rain or Shine Elastopainters. The final score was 90-80 in favor of Petron.
