The Meralco Bolts is still sparkling as they vanquished the Barako Bulls, 83-75, for the 2nd game of the PBA 37th Season yesterday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The veteran Asi Taulava of the Meralco Bolts, the best player, produced a big double-double 10 points and 10 rebounds that made the Bulls struggle in putting successful baskets.

Although Mick Pennisi endured an early foul trouble situation, as he committed 3 fouls during the opening quarter, he assisted the Bulls from his non-stop successful 3-point attempts to have an opportunity to equalize the scores.

But, the Bolts striked their lightning bolt in the 4th quarter as they created a 19-5 run that expanded their lead into double digits.

While Bolts were being confident during the last 4 mins of the last quarter, the Bulls were trying to pull their deficit down as Arboleda made his charity free throws that almost forced an overtime game, but they were giving fouls that placed them in the penalty situation which opened an opportunity to the Bolts to stretch their lead.

Due to this win, the Meralco Bolts are now in the solo 4th place in the Standings and they still have an opportunity to improve on their position in their next games.

Here are the scores from PBA.PH:

    MERALCO 83 - Cardona 17, Espinas 16, Mercado 12, Isip 10, Taulava 10, Lanete 5, Borboran 4, Omolon 4, Macapagal 3, Hugnatan 2, Yee 0.
