Meralco strikes their lightning bolt to their opponent yesterday, the Powerade Tigers. The final score was 97-96.

Meralco started the match as they hit successful continuous 2-point baskets with fouls to booth that resulted to most of the big men of Tigers to be in an early foul trouble situation.

Meralco ended their first quarter with a sweet 8 point lead, 23-15. But the Powerade Tigers, as they found their energy in the 2nd quarter, managed to tie the the ball game. The Tigers made a 21-9 run with 4:21 mins remaining in the 1st half.

But Gabby Espinas and Mac Cardona were able to score crucial shots to get the lead back on the side of the Bolts. The 1st half ended with the Bolts still having the lead, 52-48.

The Tigers became ferocious as they started the second half throwing 3-pointers and dominating the paint against the Bolts. It enabled them to get back their biggest lead, 65-71.

But the unusual silent Sol Mercado showed his presence in the last quarter as he successfully hurdled his team to cut their deficit and to eventually get a one-point lead over the Tigers.
