    "Red lions' sweet revenge!"

SBC red lions defeated SSC-R golden Stags today, 90-71, for the last game of the elimination round of the NCAA season 87 held at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

The Lions was successful to tie in the standings with Stags. Thus, they forced a playoff for the first spot in the Final 4 at 2:00 p.m. at The Arena in San Juan.

In this game, Garvo Lanete led the Red Lions in achieving their 16th victory using his unstoppable hot shots for the 1st half which gave them the big 10 point lead.

For San Sebastian, Calvin Abueva was the one who led the Stags in firing crucial buckets in the 1st half, but his partners, Ronald Pascual and Ian Sanggalang had a hard time in scoring and that was their biggest problem all through out this game.

The Red Lions were able to maintain their two-digit lead in the third quarter as they forced the Stags to fire outside shots which stretched their lead to 20 points until the end of the game.

Surprisingly, Anthony Semerad, with 13 points in his score sheet, had a 10 point blitzkrieg during the third quarter from his continuous 3-point shots from beyond the arc which, compared to their 1st face-off match, he ended only as a bench player. This time he played Big and he was a vital part of this win.

Stags and Lions will have a play-off match on Friday that will break the tie and thus it will determine who will be in the 1st spot of the Final 4.

    Quarter Scoring:
    18-29
    35-45
    47-68
    70-91
