Philippine Women's Volleyball Team Not Allowed To Play In SEA Games 2011 In Indonesia

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) has already decided not to allow our Philippine Women's Volleyball Team to participate in the upcoming South East Asian Games 2011 in Indonesia.

POC said that the poor performances of the Philippine Women's Volleyball Team in the past Asian Volleyball Tournaments such as the 12th Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship (AWCVC) prompted them not to give a slot to the PWVT in the Philippine Athlete Delegation that are set to participate in the SEA Games 2011 in Indonesia.

Ms. Rachel Ann Daquis, the designated Team Captain of the PWVT was disappointed after she heard the sad news. But in the end she said that this sad news should instead encourage them to play better next time.

The PWVT is participating in the Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) 2011 which is an open invitational tournament that is being held in Ninoy Aquino Stadium. The tournament will end on October 9, 2011.
