Perpetual Altas Defeat Arellano Chiefs In The 2nd Round of NCAA Season 87: Jett Vidal Shot The Lights Out

    By Ms. Kristina Montefalco-Singson Sy

    "Altas' 5th victory!"

The University of Perpetual Help Altas got their 5th and final win this season against the Arellano University Chiefs today, 77-60, in the 2nd round elimination of NCAA BRAZEN@ 87 held in FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

Altas, with their never say die spirit, established their big 16 point lead at the end of the 1st half, from Jaycee Asuncion, Chris Elopre and center, Justine Alano which made the Arellano Chiefs struggle to lessen the deficit. Mark Doligon, with 11 points and 8 rebounds in his score sheet, tried to stop the firing momentum of the Altas during the third quarter as the Altas were relegated to just giving fouls that enabled him to shoot bonus free throws.

Perps' Center, Justine Alano, the man of the match, together with George Allen combined for a total of 10 points that stretched their lead and deny the deadlock opportunity for the Chiefs at the end 3rd quarter.

However, the Arellano Chiefs never gave up and still they were hopeful to steal the win from Perps. AU's Kim Pagayunan fired continuous 3 points in the line that almost erased the double-digit lead of Perps.

But, Jett Vidal still shooting 3 pointers and 2 pointers here and there as he was able to secure their 5th win of the season.

    Quarter scoring:

    18-14;43-27;60-41;77-60
