Harvey Carey PBA Player of The Week Awardee: He Takes The Leader's Role While Kelly, Jimmy and Ranidel Are Not Yet Around

Without Talk 'n Text's top gunners, Jimmy Alapag, Kelly Williams and Ranidel De Ocampo, the Tropang Texters still started out strong in their PBA Season 37 All Filipino Cup 2011 campaign. But who would have thought that the banger Harvey Carey would be one of the biggest reasons why they were able to have that great start.

They are currently on a 2 game winning streak and Carey is having the greatest moments of his career in those 2 games. Well, if you really train hard and give it all on the court, you'll most certainly reap the fruits of your labor. That's what Harvey Carey did when he showed in their first two games this season that he now has a reliable perimeter shooting after putting in extra time and effort in the gym just to hone his shooting form. With his more accurate shooting, he has definitely become a beast this season.

Carey is currently averaging 19.5 points and 12 rebounds per game. His 28 points and 14 rebounds output in TNT's win against the then unbeaten Rain or Shine Elasto Painters was one of the best performances so far in the league right now. Oh man, that game between TNT and ROS was very close and who would have thought that Harvey Carey would be the one who will carry TNT to the win over ROS.

The 6'4 Carey sank several key shots in that game including a 3 pointer that gave TNT a more comfortable lead in the 3rd quarter en route to beating ROS via 107 to 98. No wonder he was named as the PBA Press Corp Player of The Week. Congratulations Harvey!
