Who Will Win PBA Governors' Cup 2011 Best Import Award? Jason Forte or Arizona Reid?

Of all the remaining imports right now in the PBA Governors' Cup 2011 semi-finals Jason Forte and Arizona Reid have been the longest staying imports in the league. The reason is quite obvious. Forte has been playing good for the Alaska Aces and Reid is also doing great with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. That's why I'm not shocked about the news that came out earlier today from Snow Badua. Snow said that:

"BEST IMPORT AWARD is reportedly down to just JASON FORTE (ALASKA) & ARIZONA REID (RAIN OR SHINE). Who's your bet?"

Just last night, Jason Forte showed why he's a candidate to win the Best Import of the conference award. He led the Aces in ousting the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados. The finals score of the game was 105-86 in favor of the Aces. Forte flexed his muscles against the Llamados as he scored 42 big points and he also grabbed several rebounds. I think he has 13 rebounds in the game. That's another double-double performance from the versatile import of the Aces. His 42 point output will definitely solidify his bid for the Best Import Award especially if his team will go deeper in the semi-finals. If he's not around for his team, the Aces could have been out in the running for the PBA Finals earlier than expected because their 2 scorers, Cyrus Baguio and Wesley Gonzales were out for them because of injuries.

The other Best Import candidate is Arizona Reid. He's also a versatile import like Forte. He can shoot from the outside as well as from the inside. He's the primary reason why the Elasto Painters have a 6-5 win-loss record all in all and a 2-1 record in the semi-finals. In fact in their last game against Petron he scored 34 points to lead all scorers in that game. They demolished Petron in that game as seen in the final score, 113-83. Right now he has the advantage over Forte in getting the Best Import Award because it's quite obvious that his team has a better record in the semis compared to Forte's team. If his team will end up having a better win-loss record than the Aces at the end of the Semis, he might as well be the Best Import of the conference. He has a golden chance to that on Wednesday as Rain or Shine will face Alaska in the 2nd game. But right, let's refrain from releasing a statement till the semis if over.

As you can see and as you can feel, right now we can never really say who will win the Best Import Award because the magnitudes of these two leading import candidates seemed to be at par with each other. The best thing that we can do is to wait until the end of the semi-finals and see who among these two imports will emerge victorious in their respective games. But you, who is your bet?
