Besiktas Team in Turkey Wants To Get Kobe Bryant While NBA Is In A Lockout

The Besiktas Cola team that brought the 2001 NBA MVP Allen Iverson to Turkey is now trying to get the services of one of Iverson's rivals in the NBA, Kobe Bryant. Right now Iverson is not included in the Besiktas Team's roster because of his injury and also, I read in Slam Magazine that he's busy in working his way back to the NBA. That's why he and Kobe will not see each other in the Besiktas Team if ever the latter will agree to play for the said Turkish Team.

This is the perfect time for The Besiktas Team to ask Kobe's services because the NBA is in a Lockout and David Stern himself said that their players are now allowed to go overseas if they want to play for a foreign team.

The executives of the Besiktas team are aiming to talk with the camp of Kobe Bryant today. They flew all the way from Turkey to USA just to visit and talk to Kobe. I read that directly from Slam Online. Here's the report:

“Turkish state news agency Anadolu Ajans reports that Besiktas’ billionaire Chairman Yildirim Demiroren will personally be making the trip overseas today to the US to meet with Lakers star Kobe Bryant and his agent. According to the report, Chairman Demiroren will be accompanied by the head of Besiktas’ Basketball Operations Seref Yalcin. The two are expected to finalize the negotiations Bryant on this trip. Although, there have not been any official numbers released regarding the offer made to Bryant, local media speculates that Beskitas will table a 6 month 5.5 million dollar deal to the 32 year old star.”
