Jerry Lucena & Anthony Jonsson To Replace Stephen Shrock & Aly Borromeo in Azkals vs. Kuwait 1st Leg Match: New Players of Azkals Must Step up

    Here's Ray Anthony Jonsson

After receiving yellow cards in the second leg of the Azkals vs. Sri Lanka last Sunday, the Fil-German Stephen Shrock & the skipper and team captain Aly Borromeo will be suspended in their first leg match against Kuwait in the 2nd round of the 2011 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. We'll miss the leadership of Aly Borromeo and the grit of Stephon Shrock.

The Azkals' game against Kuwait is projected to be not as easy as their game against Sri Lanka because their FIFA ranking is higher than the Azkals. If I'm not mistaken they are in the top 100-110 while the Azkals are in the top 150-155. They will surely be a tough match against the Azkals. The absence of Aly and Stephen in the first leg will surely be a big blow against us, but don't worry because coach Michael Weiss has a secret plan for the first leg. He might field in the Fil-Icelandic Ray Anthony Jonsson and Fil-Danish Jerry Lucena. Hopefully they'll deliver big time for the Azkals.

Also, their team manager Dan Palami announced yesterday that Jason De Jong and Chris Greatwich would also be back for the Azkals in their first leg match on July 23 in Kuwait.

Before the first leg, the Azkals will have a series of tune-up games against some of the top teams in the Middle East such as the Bahrain National Olympic Team on July 16 and 18, 2011 at exactly 7:00 p.m. at the world famous Bahrain National Stadium.

If you want to catch the Azkals before they go to Bahrain. They will have a training on Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Alabang Country Club.

And to give you a better idea on how great the Kuwait National Football Team is. Here's a short video showing their game highlights. I just hope that the Azkals will be able to handle them really well.
