Dirk Nowitzki Injured His Finger In Game 1 Might See Limited Minutes In Game 2

I feel for Dirk Nowitzki. His team lost to Miami in the game 1 of their 2011 NBA Finals and in the last 4 minutes of that game he got his left middle-finger jammed when Chris Bosh attacked his defense. Dirk knew that his finger got broken because heard a sound from his finger after the said accident.

Their team doctor said that Dirk's tendon in his finger got damaged and it might affect him and his playing minutes in game 3. Dirk said that he will still play in game 2 and he will just play through the pain because his team needs him in their current series.

With his finger injured he only shot 7 out of 18 tries from the field. But I admire his courage to still play heavy minutes in game 2. Dirk said:

“So I tore a tendon in there. I guess it’ll be all right. It will be all right.”

The extent of Dirk's injury is still uncertain and he doesn't seem to care on what's gonna be the result of the x-Rays and MRI's. He will suck the pain in and he will still play for Dallas till the end of this series. The good thing is that the injury is in his left hand and not on his right hand, which is his shooting hand. He will try his best to still play heavy minutes in game 2 but coach Rick Carlisle will be wise enough to lessen his minutes on the floor because his injury might be aggravated.
