Smart Gilas Beats Ginebra In Game 3 of PBA Commissioner's Cup 2011 As They Force A Game 4

The Nation's pride, Smart Gilas Pilipinas Stays alive in their semifinals series against the crowd favorite Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings. The Kings are one win away from sweeping Gilas in their best of 5 semifinals series but the guys in blue didn't let that happen last night in Game 3. Gilas win with the score of 100-88. They have just made history as they destroy the long standing belief that once a team gains a 2-0 advantage in a best of 5 series they are more likely to win that series.

Smart Gilas seemed to have placed hand cuffs on the hands of Mark Caguioa as he struggled to get his shots go in the ring. He just had 7 points. This is the best thing that they have done in the series. Mark is the vocal leader of Ginebra and if he's shut down the team is also down.

Gilas just gave themselves a chance to tie the series on this coming Easter Sunday. Rajko Toroman said that they will not back down on Ginebra. It's a fight.

Smart Gilas owned the third quarter of this game. Marcio Lassiter went hot. He scored three straight crucial jump shots in this game. He along with La Salle's pride, Jayvee Casion were the ones who propelled Gilas to the next level. Casio had 30 points.

Marcus Douthit also made crucial inside points to keep Gilas at shouting distance against Ginebra in the first and second quarters. He only had 6 points but he was able to disrupt the hot shooting of Yancy De Ocampo. Yancy sank 3 straight booming three pointers from the high arc.

Uichico said that they did their best to defend the wing men of Gilas but they just have better offense last night.

Nate Brumfield, the favorite to win the best import award had another monstrous game with 30 points and 13 rebounds.

I will salute the PBA if it allows Smart Gilas to get past Ginebra.

Did you know that gin kings is commissioners favorite and referees favorite, kalabitin mu lang ang gin kings foul na kayo agad, peru kapag kayu ang siniko ng gin kings, wag kayung umasa na tawagan tawagan ang gin kings ng foul, dahil favor ang referee sa gin kings, pabor si commissioner at referee sa gin kings to attract more crowd sa araneta, kikita kasi sila pag gin kings ang naglaro. sa fourth quarter banatan nyu sila ng three points para hindi na sila makahabol

The odds are against the Smart Gilas. May it be the crowd etc. But one thing is for sure, these things will toughen the hearts of Smart Gilas. They need these things to become the team that the Filipinos will be proud of. Let's just watch how they handle these kinds of challenges. Best of luck Gilas!
