Rizal Memorial Stadium: Venue of Philippine Azkals vs Sri Lanka Football Game World Cup Qualifiers 2011

After quite some time of further deliberations, the Philippine Football Federation has picked the Rizal Memorial stadium as the venue of the Philippine Azkals versus Sri Lanka game this coming July 3, 2011.

The game will serve as a qualifying game for the FIFA World Cup.

Mariano Araneta, the PFF President along with the manager of the Azkals, Dan Palami said that their decision is final. But they will have to point out some defects in the facilities and the field of the Rizal Memorial. The grass field will have to be refined and the field should be flawless.

The DPWH has ratified the decision saying that the Stadium is safe and that it has passed the structural integrity test.

The PFF will also pitch in some money for the further refinement of the facilities such as the dug outs because they are quite small for tall players.
