Neil Etheridge Might Miss 2nd Game of Azkals vs Mongolia 2011 AFF Qualifier

Neil Etheridge, the 21 year-old goalie of the Azkals may miss the second game of the AFF Suzuki Cup qualifying game against the Mongolia Blue Wolves because of prior committments.

The Azkals beat the Mongolian team in their first meeting last February 9, 2011. But they will have to win one more time because Mongolia have a twice to beat advantage. The second game will be in Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

The second game will be on March 15, 2011. If they will lose in the 2nd game against the Blue Wolves, they will not qualify in the second round of the qualifying matches for the AFF Suzuki Cup.

Etheridge has prior commitment to his professional team in London, known as Fulham. The Philippine Azkals will try to carry their momentum from their first win over Mongolia, after having won the home leg with the score of 2-0. They might miss the services of their ever reliable goalie who

Fulham doesn't want Etheridge to spend so much time away from them because they have to build teamwork and they will have to gel as one team. Etheridge said that he is aware of his importance to the Azkals. He will have to weigh the situation. Hopefully any decision coming from him would not prejudice his young football career. He is just 21 years old and if he incurs a breach of contract that might be a huge backslash on his career.
