De La Salle University Green Archers Men's Basketball New Line-up 2011 UAAP Season 74

The Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles have beefed up their center and pointguard spots. They acquired Gwyane Capacio, a 6'3 small forward from De la Salle Zobel, Kiefer Ravena, a 5'11 pointguard from the Ateneo De Manila High School and Greg Slaughter, a 7'0 center from the University of Visayas Lancers. They are considered as the powerhouse team in the upcoming UAAP Season 74 because their line-up from last year's championship team is almost in tact and they still have Ryan Buenafe. The new king eagle. But their arch-rival, the De La Salle University Green Archers will not back down from the challenge of having tall and promising new players.

Right above is the picture of their new acquisitions. In the picture you'll see De La Salle's vice chancellor, Brother Bernie Oca who is with their new recruits starting from the left, the one wearing a dark green jersey, he is Dan Sara, a 5'7 point guard out of the San Beda High School, Arnold Van Opstal, the one standing at the back of coach Dindo Pumaren, a 6'9 center from De La Salle Zobel and Norbert Torres, the one sporting a skin-head, a 6'6 center from Mother Teresa High School in Toronto, Canada.

DLSU's coach, Dindo Pumaren wants a quicker and bigger team. So far he is happy with the performance of his team. He can feel their potential. Among his players, he is happy with the performance of his come backing veteran point guard LA Revilla who missed two seasons because of diabetes and other body injuries.

He said that they have a total of 24 players which is a combination of veterans and rookies. Only 16 of them will make it to the team A. The others, whether veterans or rookies will have to be in the team B. They are all fighting for a slot. A single mistake could be fatal for them.

He is confident that with their new recruits and new line-up they can play small or big on the court without compromising their fast breaking abilities and their air tight pressure defense.

The Ateneo have Greg Slaughter but DLSU have Arnold Van Opstal. This will be a very interesting match-up.

Dindo said that they are still waiting for the answers of 3 more high school standouts. They refused to name those three other players.

To all those players who may want to play for DLSU here is what they offer to their recruits. Coach Dindo said it very clearly. He said:

“It’s a challenge recruiting the top high school players, but I’m happy that the players are responding positively to our pitch that we don’t only offer a way to a basketball career but also a solid academic program. Our managers are offering incentives for good grades and the players realize the value of a good education.”

    DLSU's key returnees are:
