DLSU Lady Archers Beats UST Lady Tigresses In UAAP Season 73 Volleyball 2010-2011 Eliminations Captures Top Spot

Stephanie Mercado, popularly known as Paning Mercado whose mother is a world class Filipino athlete led the way for the DLSU Lady Archers as they beat the seemingly invincible UST Tigresses in the UAAP Season 73 Women's Volleyball yesterday at the San Juan Arena.

It was a day wherein the UST Tigresses' supporters flocked in the San Juan Arena to see their favorite team crash DLSU, but it was UST who suffered a lost. They lost by 3 straight sets. That is a rare thing especially for UST.

UST's 18 game winning streak which started way back December 14, 2008 was broken yesterday by La Salle. DLSU dominated UST. It's as if their blockers were not there when Cha Cruz and Paning Mercado hit the ball in several successful occasions. They showed their tremendous desire to kill the ball.

Paning Mercado had a walk in the park as she scored a whopping 12 points coming from 10 attacks and 2 very damaging service aces.

UST now goes down in the team standings with 6 wins and 1 loss while DLSU grabs the top spot with 7 wins and 0 losses.

The complete set scores are: 25-20, 25-19, 25-12.
