A Basketball Player's Reflection on The Most Important Thing That He Should Bear In His Impetuous Mind

I often do things in my own way I seldom listen to the things that my heart is saying to me. Most of the time I just turn those things down, and put them in the drainage where all the noble, righteous, correct moves that I should have done. I think that I am still too young to be in this difficult situation. I win some of those determining battles and I failed several times. I feel that I should not be here. That I don't deserve the things that I have been experiencing. All I can see are pictures of me failing. Last year wasn't a good year for me and it seems that this year will also be like last year. I started the year in a wrong foot. I have to admit that. Failure after failure, I am still here on earth. What shall I do?

I prayed hard last night. I told to God, please take me out of this cold and dark place oh Lord. I felt a tap on my right shoulder. That is a sign that God is letting me know that He is at my side. I made a soft affirmation that I should fight. This is just temporary. Tomorrow will be a new day. A fresh day to start a new life. I should not give up. This is just a test that will make me a better person regardless of the result.

The next thing that came into my mind is the quotation that Michael Jordan said:

Always turn a negative situation into a positive situation. I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying. I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

The failures that I have had experience should serve as a bridge that will lead me to becoming a better person. The journey of facing those failures is more important than the destiny. Michael Jordan became a better player because of the failures that he faced along the way. It worked for him it should also work for me.

My favorite rapper, T.I. also expressed his thoughts regarding failure. He made a strong statement in his song Live Your Life. He said,

    Life Is An Interesting Journey,

You Never Know Where It Will Take You,

Peaks And Values, Twists And Turns,

You Can Get The Surprise Of Your Life,

Sometimes On The Way To Where Your Going,

You Might Think This Is The Worst Time Of My Life,

But You Know What At The End Of The Road Through All The Adversity If You Can Get Where You Wanted To Be Remember What Ever Don’t Kill You Make You Stronger And All The Adversity Will Be Worth It.

In life what you see is what you get. Do something today, tomorrow you'll reap the fruits of that action. Remember the fruit of the poisonous tree. Bad seeds will never produce fruitful and useful things.

We can pray, kneel down and shout. At the end of the day, we will still left to be clueless if we will not study our actions.
