Dirk Nowitzki Beats Larry Bird On NBA Scoring Record

Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks has surpassed the all time scoring record of Boston's Larry Bird.

He's now in the 25th spot after having 21,798 points. He got the peat when he led Dallas to a 105-99 win over the Orlando Magic.

Nowitzki is in his 13th season. He can still improve his numbers. Bird retired in his 13th season. Nowitzki is assured of another 4 years of playing in the NBA as he received a contract extension worth 80 million dollars.

15 points more and he will once again move up the scoring record list. He will surpass Gary Payton who is in the 24th spot.
