Kirk Long of the Blue Eagles directed his team to a come from behind win against the highly improved Mapua Cardinals led by Mike Parala.
The final score was 65-56. The Ateneo Blue Eagles were down by 15 points in the first three quarters of the game but in the fourth quarter they finally found their groove as they rally behind Kirk Long who had 23 points, 4 rebounds and 2 important steals.
They are now in the semi-finals and they will go against the Visayas regional champions, The University of Cebu Webmasters. Ateneo will try to stop Junmar Fajardo, a 6'9 center who plays like LeBron James.
