I have been wondering why coach Lawrence Tiongson has not yet used Lordy Casajeros who's from Perpetual Help College in Laguna, in their past two games in this year's UAAP Season. They were defeated by the UST Growling Tigers and the De La Salle University Green Archers. I've seen Lordy Casajeros play basketball last summer during the Hi-Smart Basketball One on One challenge held at The SM Mall of Asia. He's with Erwin Duran in that one on one challenge.
In that one on one challenge Lordy Casajeros went against Junnie Baranta. The match was very even in terms of athleticism and height. I can only remember the dunks made by Lordy Casajeros. Tomahawks, windmills and honey dips name any dunk he can surely do it. Though he lacks perimeter shooting. In the end he loss in that game but he loss to the one who won the challenge, he was Junnie Baranta. Junnie took home the 50,000 pesos cash prize from Hi-Smart Multivitamins.
In Casajeros' first game in the UAAP against the unbeaten team, The Far Eastern University Tamaraws who has a definite height advantage his team trailed in the first quarter to as much as 18 points but he and Paul Lee who has been having an MVP type of season averaging double double, 25 points and 12 rebs a game made the game more interesting.
Unfortunate with Paul Lee going down with cramps, and Raffy Reyes in foul trouble they loss to FEU. Via 91-81. None the less they made a great showing compared to their first two games. They loss with just 10 points.
In the last seconds of the third quarter Casajeros made a huge three which I will post here later. They grabbed a one point lead due to his heroics. They are on their way to upsetting the unbeaten FEU Tamaraws.
Another guy who's making a lot of noise this year for the University of The East was Adrian Santos. This guy was a great player during his highschool days in UE. Just like Erwin Duran, his teamate, he is also part of the UE Pages. Though that team wasn't that dominant these two guys held the fort for them and they caught a lot of the attention from college recruiters but they ultimately chose to stay with their beloved school. Adrian Santos unfortunately went into the team b pool of the UE Red Warriors. But this year they are re-united. Adrian Santos has averaged 1 points and 3 rebounds a game. Not bad for a newbie in the UAAP. He has made a huge impact together with Kenneth Acibar especially during their first game versus UST but they loss in that game. He has earned the reputation of being an Elmer Espiritu's game look alike.
