The Mapua Cardinals has once again regained their disposition as one of the great teams in the NCAA season 86. Just like in the late 90's when the Mapua reigned supreme in the NCAA with Omancy Rodriguez and Henry McCoy in the team they are now again a contender to win this year's NCAA crown. They've beaten two promising teams the Perpetual Help Altas, and the Arellano University Chiefs. They also scared San Beda Red Lions in their last outing but they loss in the end because of lack of composure. But never the less they made a great job against the three time champion.
The Mapua Cardinals has 4 veterans who all played in the PBL or Philippine Basketball League during the summer. They are Erwin Cornejo, a sharp shooting and dare devil player, Terence Guillermo, Macky Acosta, and Neil Raneses.
If there's someone aside from coach Chito Victolero and Macky Acosta who keeps the team in tact and ready for everygame it's their assistant team captain Erwin Cornejo. Here's his picture below:
