PBL and Liga Pilipinas Try-outs

The Philippines is full of people who have dreams of playing basketball on a national level, and thereby making it as their career wherein they get both fame and fortune. But unfortunately not all amateur basketball players get to become a basketball varsity player in a college or a university where they can have enough exposure to be a PBL player and eventually enter the PBA draft. As a top notch basketball enthusiast Butch Maniego imagined the Philippine Basketball setting to be as open as it should be. He is really really proud that the PBL and other big leagues such as Liga Pilipinas are opening try-outs for all amateur basketball players out there. They regularly conduct their 2 hour try-outs at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City. What is also good is that the try-outs would be administered by the Smart-Gilas staff. The said try-outs will be annually held from now on. The said start is today, Thursday (May 13, 2010) at the Meralco gym starting at 8 p.m. and onwards. An information from Teampilipinas.info site says "after the rookie camp, both the PBL and Liga Pilipinas will hold their Rookie Draft on Saturday in time for the opening of their joint project on June 5.
